The past few days have been extremely frustrating and tiring (all mommas of young children can relate).
I’m not going to lie, by the time this afternoon came I was wondering when and why I had decided that me raising little people was a good idea.
I urge you, then, to live a life worthy of the calling you have received.
Ephesians 4:1
As I unloaded my cranky children from the hopelessly cluttered minivan and trudged into Food Lion, an older lady stopped us.
She cooed over the babies and commented, “You must have so much on your plate with those three!”
I forced a smile, offered my standard response, “I sure do,” and continued on my way.
But then the woman reached out to me and added, “These children are a blessing, a gift.
“I couldn’t have children and always wanted to. On the hard days, remember me.”
Wow, God.
So often you answer the prayer I didn’t even think to ask, and you use other people to do it. Thank you.
In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.
Romans 8:26
